☮︎ is one of the most recognisable symbols in modern culture, yet one of the most elusive ideas in human history.
It represents hope, unity and compassion, but exists alongside conflict, division and loss. This exhibition explores that contradiction.
Across a series of new works, the familiar emblem is repeatedly dismantled and reimagined through different materials, symbols and narratives. Bullet holes become a call for peace. Mushroom clouds bloom into impossible icons. Skulls, bottle caps, rope and portraiture transform a universal symbol into something both familiar and unsettling.
Rather than presenting peace as a destination, these works ask what it really means to pursue it. Is peace the absence of conflict, or something that must be protected, cultivated and continually rebuilt? Can one symbol still carry meaning in a world that often seems to move further away from it?
☮︎ is not an exhibition that offers answers. It is an invitation to pause, reflect and consider the value of something that has never felt more fragile—or more important.
